(2001) ENCHANT
I was raised on a blueberry and strawberry farm in Hemlock and the closest water I had was a swimmable irrigation pond. I went sailing for the first time when I was about 24 and fell in love with the calm rush of water against the hull of the boat. I didn’t have another chance to sail until I was 30 and have been sailing ever since. I purchased my own 25′ sailboat in 1997 and docked her at Bay Harbor. That is where I met Dale, who owned a Hunter 40, and we enjoyed sailing together. Dale proposed to me on the Hunter and we were married July 1999. Dale wanted me to consult with him on his retirement gift to himself which was a new Jeanneau in 1999. Sailing is a passion we both share and bringing our Jeanneau (Enchant) to the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club was the best decision we made. The friendships we have developed have made our yacht club a home. I can’t imagine my life without a sailboat, so God, willing, we will be sailing for many more years with SBYC always our home port.
I have been working in Cardiology diagnostics for over 40 years, starting my own Cardiology Diagnostic Practice 26 years ago. I have the luxury of only working 2 days a week, thanks to Technology who works for me. I love my work and my patients, and the 3 Cardiologists I contract with! I have been told I will know when I am ready to retire. God, Family, Travel and Boating are the many blessings Dale and I share. Oh yea, and Golf. I am so proud to be elected to SBYC Board of Directors and any thoughts and ideas are welcome!
